Mental Health &
Brain Health

Mood, sleep, anxiety and cognition — assessed by consultants, held in complete confidence, and never reduced to a prescription.

Mental Health and Brain Health at Lavora Clinic
01 Overview

The mind is not
separate from the body.

Low mood, poor sleep and difficulty concentrating are often treated as purely psychological. Sometimes they are. Often they are not, and establishing which is the first task.

A proper assessment looks at both, rather than assuming either.

A consultation room at Lavora Clinic
  • Persistent low mood Flatness or sadness that has not lifted.
  • Anxiety Worry, tension or panic that interferes with living.
  • Sleep difficulty Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or waking rested.
02 Who It Is For

Common reasons
patients come to us.

You do not need a diagnosis, and you do not need to be in crisis to justify an appointment.

  • Difficulty concentrating Brain fog, forgetfulness and reduced focus.
  • Stress and burnout Exhaustion that rest is no longer resolving.
  • A second opinion A diagnosis or medication plan you would like reviewed.
  • Hormonal symptoms Fatigue, weight change, low mood or reduced libido.
  • Routine screening Well-woman checks and preventive assessment.
  • A second opinion When a plan elsewhere has not been fully explained.
What we recommend is a clinical judgement — made with you, and explained to you.
04 Treatments

What care
can involve.

Which of these applies to you — if any — is decided after assessment, not before it.

05 The Pathway

How your care
is planned.

Every patient follows the same four stages. What happens inside them is specific to you.

Explore Lavora Protocols
  1. Consultation

Unhurried, with history and context taken seriously.

  2. Assessment

Investigation chosen to answer a specific question.

  3. Plan

Written, explained, and agreed with you before starting.

  4. Review

Revisited against how you actually respond.

06 Technology

Used where it
changes the answer.

Equipment does not deliver care — physicians do. Each platform is used under consultant oversight, and only where it genuinely changes what we can assess or achieve.

Which of these applies to you is confirmed at consultation.

All technologies
  • Structured cognitive testing Objective measurement rather than impression.
  • Hormonal and metabolic panels Ruling in or out a physical contributor.
  • Sleep assessment tools Understanding sleep architecture, not just duration.
  • Validated screening instruments Consistent measurement across follow-up visits.

08 Wider Care

When more than
one specialty helps.

Mood and cognition are affected by hormones, sleep, metabolic health and thyroid function. Where that is genuinely relevant, your consultant can involve the appropriate Lavora specialist.

Not every patient needs this. Many cases are managed entirely within the specialty, and deciding otherwise is a clinical judgement made case by case.

09 Questions

Before
you book.

If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp and a coordinator will answer it.

Is this confidential?

Completely. Private rooms, separate routing, and records restricted to your care team.

Will I be put on medication?

Not automatically. Medication is one option among several, and it is discussed rather than assumed.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book a consultation directly.

Do you provide talking therapy?

We assess, and we refer to psychological therapy where that is the right route for you.

What if my problem is physical, not psychological?

Establishing that is part of the assessment, which is why investigation is often included.

Do you accept insurance?

Coverage varies by insurer and plan. Contact us and we will confirm eligibility beforehand.
