01 What You May Notice

What people
usually notice.

Most patients arrive describing an impression rather than a feature.

A profile study in soft fabric
  • Texture and tone Skin quality, pigmentation or pore visibility changing.
  • Volume loss Hollowing around the eyes, temples or midface.
  • Contour softening Definition along the jaw and neck becoming less distinct.
  • Lines that stay Expression lines now visible at rest.
  • Uneven results Previous treatment that did not achieve what was expected.
02 Clinical Context

Quality, volume
and contour.

Visible ageing is three separate processes that are easily confused for one another: change in skin quality, loss of underlying volume, and change in contour and laxity. They respond to entirely different treatments, and treating the wrong one is the usual reason results disappoint.

A patient treated for volume when the issue is skin quality will look filled rather than refreshed. The assessment is what prevents that.

  • Skin quality Texture, pigmentation, vascularity and barrier function.
  • Volume distribution Where fat and bone have changed, and where they have not.
  • Contour and laxity Structural change that injectables cannot address.
  • Dynamic movement How the face behaves in animation, not only at rest.
  • Previous treatment What has been done, when, and how it settled.
  • Medical contributors Thyroid, hormonal and nutritional factors that affect skin directly.

03 How We Assess It

How we
assess it.

A consultation that begins with assessment rather than a menu.

  1. Consultation

What you have noticed, what you would want to change, and what you would not.

  2. Structured assessment

Skin quality, volume and contour assessed separately and documented.

  3. Honest options

What will help, what will not, and what would be better addressed surgically.

  4. Staged plan

Sequenced over time where that gives a better result than doing everything at once.

04 Where It Leads

Who would
see you.

This concern is held by Aesthetic & Regenerative Medicine. If assessment points elsewhere, you are introduced to the right consultant rather than redirected to find one.

05 Questions

Before you
get in touch.

Will I be sold a treatment at the consultation?

No. The consultation exists to assess what is actually driving the change you have noticed. For some patients the honest answer is that a non-surgical treatment will not achieve what they are describing, and we say so.

How natural will the result be?

Our approach is to treat the cause of the change rather than to add volume by default. The aim is that you look rested rather than treated.

I have had treatment elsewhere that I am not happy with. Can that be assessed?

Yes. Bring details of what was done and when, if you have them. Assessment of previous treatment is a common reason for consultation.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly.

Nothing on this page is a diagnosis. An assessment is how you find out what is actually happening.

This page explains how Lavora approaches a concern. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace a consultation.
